Acrylic practice it boggles the mind how hard it is to paint a small white bird. I went over this one many times. Eventually, the acrylic was so clotted that I had to leave it. (The flowers, on the other hand, just happened.) Share this:FacebookPinterestEmailLike this:Like Loading... Related 20 thoughts on “Acrylic practice” Add yours I love the colours and the composition. It’s different from the ‘realistic’ birds I commented on earlier. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply Thanks, Morris! LikeLike Reply But so evocative of spring! (The bladder campions were from a photo, but I see them everywhere in the summer.) LikeLiked by 1 person Reply I know this feeling so well. So often there seems to be a part of a painting in open rebellion. I think those flowers are great and I like the bird, too, the struggle is not showing! I would not know if you did not mention it that the bird is a handful! LikeLiked by 1 person Reply Thank you, Claudia – that means a lot! Yes, I probably need to slow down when I hit those spots that aren’t working. (Sometimes it’s hard to disengage!) LikeLike Reply Yes, I do understand. Sometimes I think I like painting more than having painted something. LikeLiked by 1 person I like it so much! (I think I’m still struggling with the difference between expectations and reality.) LikeLike Reply I think things with a simple shape and color are very difficult. Try to paint an orange and not just a round circle! LikeLiked by 1 person Reply That was exactly it. Trying to figure out the shading using white and grey was hard as was trying to get the shapes right.
