As much cake as you want
So many bizarre happenings in Alexandra Park. I love this!

Thanks! The parks are by the old Chinatown so mostly retired Chinese doing their morning exercises. The woman walking backwards gave me pause … I’m so western-minded and forward-focused – might try it some time, but don’t think I’d manage to go half as far as she did without turning around.

I wish I could walk backwards. I have enough trouble walking forwards. Like.
And sometimes I feel like I’m walking backwards even when I’m going forwards – especially lately :-).
Love these small glimpses into the beginnings of others’ days. Walking backwards seems especially appealing, as I imagine it compels the sort of alertness and uncertainty that arrives with the unfamiliar and potentially hazardous. Real present-moment practice. Me, though: I’ll stick to coffee. 🙂 Thanks for the wonderful images.
Thank you. And yes to coffee! The idea of spending mornings in the park appeals too, but doesn’t quite fit right now.
Remarkable observations, the one with the perspectives has to be my favorite of the bunch. God, I just love your work so much…
Oh thank you!
No worries ❤
Wonderful drawings and observations.
I just get a glimpse on my way to work – then it’s a pretty un-surreal desk and chair for the rest of the day :-).

This blog is such a refreshing addition to my day and I love when I see that she’s posted another glimpse of hers.
Haunting delightful vignettes. So gracefully captured. What keen eye and hand.
Thanks so much!
Another great piece of work man. Shared up on my twitter for you.
Oh thanks – really appreciate it!
Returning to this scene for a moment, I have to say how much I admire the phrase “moves in soft unison.”
As usual, these are great scenes! I should try the head slapping thing, I probably drink too much coffee.
I hope you don’t mind, but I nominated you for one of these Liebster Blog Awards. Its purpose basically seems to be helping sites that aren’t already huge get more recognition. Actually your site is already pretty popular, so I’m not sure if I’m even doing it right. But I love your work, so I figured why not (if you didn’t have one of these already). Someone nominated me, so I’m paying it forward to a few people.
Here’s the post describing the details: https://jonamdall.com/2018/07/21/a-2018-liebster-award-for-amdall-gallery/.
Hi Jon – congratulations – well deserved! Thanks so much for thinking of me. I’m really honoured. I think I’ll sit out on this round – I’m still catching up from being on the WP editors’ pick. Enjoy!
Much appreciated! And I definitely understand, that Editor’s Pick probably sent a tidal wave of folks your way. I forget sometimes that increased traffic means more people interacting with your content, and more comments to respond to. Honestly, it really doesn’t matter to me if anyone I nominated does anything with it, I just wanted to tip my hat to a few people who create cool things!
